Slow Motion Android Gingerbread Screen Off Animation
At first peek of this old TV style off animation long before gingerbread was released I thought it was quirky and cool, and couldn’t wait to use it.
Anyway a long while passed until it was finally pushed to my nexus one OTA ![]()
After the first few off and ons I thought it was cool but it might get annoying as the screen turns off it catches your eye, However after a while it grew on me and i think it would be strange and boring if a phone turned off without this cool little animation.
I wanted to know how it worked, what exactly happened to the little android screen when you pressed the off button. I looked around on youtube and nothing was found, so I threw a video together, and here it is:
Nexus one signal problems come back to haunt me
I got my new(old) nexus one and initial impresssions are thhst it is a lot better than the nexus one I has with 2.1. It does not have the famous android lag that occasionally stutters and blips your enjoyment of the great os. (more…)
Google Nexus S – should have waited for dual core!
With dual core phones coming in early 2011 and the iphone likely to follow in summer of 2011 I believe the Nexus S has missed the boat massively. Comparing it to the Nexus one it is very similar speed and has a NFC chip in it. That’s basically it. there is no point in upgrading really. I think Google should have waited and released a new phone along with the Motorola tablet that they will be releasing in possibly march. This way they could have released a phone which was a ground breaker with a dual core cpu. As I am so disappointed in the Nexus S, I have bought a second hand Nexus one for reasons i will tell you.
